CEO, former Olympic marathon hopeful and Oakley-ed-out.

I felt the need for speed (after 30-years of running) and bought a bicycle. The next thing I knew, I was entered in the 20th Anniversary of “Tour de Landle,” a rigorous 8-day, 500-mile bike tour of Southwest Germany.

Being a self-confessed sports sunglass snob, upon departure, I deliberately left my Oakley sports glasses at home in Texas—mostly due to bifocal Rx distortion, the perpetual fogging up, and the dark polarized lenses make it difficult to see (in the heavy clouds and shaded areas --to read LED screens and road surfaces) accurately.

At the bikers’ expo on the night before “The TDL,” I focused in on a bright, orange display of a new brand of Rx-able sports glasses called SZIOLS, pronounced “shields” for your eyes.

And, it gets better for those of us who are year-round sports enthusiasts—they have 14 interchangeable lenses (100% UVA, UVB protection), the patented German design-- “ACM,” (air circulation management) is the only sports glasses to eliminate fogging. Then there is the separate insert to insure superior optics and accurate vision, an integrated sweatband, safety and protection standards (tested to meet DIN EN 1836 & ANSI Z80.1) that make them shatterproof and splinter-proof.

The very second I tried them on—the comfort of the aerodynamic German design along with the brilliant clarity of vision—literally hit me right between the eyes.

Now I am the CEO of SZIOLS North America, where we are committed to saving eyes, two at a time—no matter what sport, indoor and outdoor, all year round, worldwide.

You don’t drive a car without a seatbelt, you don’t ride a bike without a helmet, and now you can see and be seen with SZIOLS/”shields for your eyes.”

5 Time National Speed Skiing Record Holder (135 mph) on Sziols

Many times I'm asked for endorsement. For the first time, I am blown away by what I found out. I was asked to try out the SZIOLS Sports Glasses. As it turned out, every day of the ski trip, it snowed hard and I kept waiting for a clear day to try them. On the last day, I simply had to try them. Worse yet, it was snowing so hard I thought I'd wear them for seconds without giving them a fair shake.

It turned out that they were nothing short of amazing. Any skier will tell you-- you never wear glasses when skiing in snowy conditions. Until now. The SZIOLS Sports Glasses are incredible. They perform like goggles without the hot, foam casing. Moreover, they worked better than my high-end goggle in flat light. The XPed lens brought out the subtleties in the slope. Never in my skiing career have I taken my goggles off and switched to glasses in a snow storm.

In ANY conditions, the SZIOLS Sports Glasses are better than ANY brand I have ever tried. And I've tried them all. They are simply an extraordinary combination of design and functionality in snow, sun, humid, cold condition you can have.

Vince Poscente
Olympic Speed Skier
5 Time National Speed Skiing Record Holder (135 mph)

See The Expedition In Your Life

Greetings from the second home office of SZIOLS.de in Zurich, Switzerland--where the new product, XPED was conceived and designed for year-round mountain sports activities. High-tech, light-weight, fog-resistant, and Rx-able --and ready for those who demand complete wind and sun protection, the XPED is ready for immediate consumption and enjoyment in the U.S.A. and wunderlusts worldwide.

Two days ago, on an unseasonably warm (42-degrees F), winter afternoon, I tested the new SZIOLS equipment on a magnificent cross-country ski course near Lake Zurich. The fact that SZIOLS has engineered adjustments for a total of 5-levels is especially significant for narrow face like mine. The fit is noticeably protective from my forehead to cheeks. Once I got back into the rhythm and the speed of the cross-country skis attached to the other end of my body, I began to perspire and coincidentally heat up the lenses of my new XPEDs. Never fear, the bottom rim of the frame is cleverly and easily removable. And, viola--fog is banished!

Unless of course, you succumb to the Swiss apres ski tradition of piping hot fondue --like I did. And, you don’t want to take your new SZIOLS XPED glasses off. They will fog up, inside, when you go into the warm lodge, and, when you are marveling at the beautiful fondue that is steaming at your table-- with a delicious aroma that I recommend for a totally sensory experience. Encore.

-Susie Sunglasses

A Testimonial from Diane Proud

As a veteran multi-sport amateur athlete, I am tough on performance eyewear. For training or racing, I rely on a dependable fit and lens to shield and protect my eyes from the sizzling Texas sun, heat, wind, rain and dust. I used to use another brand of high-end performance eyewear for years, only to be frustrated with the frames cracking or completely breaking, or the lens scratched after limited use.

With Sziols, I finally found a serious sports performance eyewear to meet my demands. The active orange lens has endured hours and hours of biking, running, hiking and snow sports in all kinds of conditions, including sweat, snot and sports drink splashed on them!

My Sziols don’t always get put away in their cushioned case as intended, instead are often quickly stashed in a purse or gym bag.

My Sziols have been tested and withstood all kinds of abuse for a year. The frames are still perfect. The lens is still unscratched and clear to offer maximum clarity and vision for my active lifestyle in various conditions and terrain. Plus, Sziols just look great!

Diane Proud, Irving, Texas

A Sundance Testimonial!

I have been meaning to drop you a line for quite a while now. I wanted to let you know how much I love my Sziols sunglasses. I use them only for riding my motorcycle and they perform wonderfully. We encountered a rain storm recently which brought a big temperature change. As you know, the potential for annoying fog is huge. Well, the Sziols did as advertised. No fog. Amazing.

I love the way they wrap around too. Wind is always an issue, well, for me anyway, when riding. The design is such that it blocks all wind, even from the sides. Just Great.

I have the orange lenses for during the day and the clear for riding after dark. The lenses change out easily and there has been no sign of wear and tear with the lenses being changed out frequently.

Thank you for the introduction to this wonderful brand and product. I tell all my riding friends about them and hope to see them in a motorcycle shop around Dallas soon. Take care and good luck with this venture. Hope to see you soon.

Jean Stover
Colleyville, Texas

Product Testing at Sundance

I did a little, um, product testing ;) while working the Sundance Film Festival, and I have to say I've finally found a pair of sport glasses that I can wear snowboarding!
I have to admit I was skeptical. Snowboarding is a very active sport and you spend a lot of the time looking across the slope, with the air blowing directly at the side of your face. In these conditions, I've found sunglasses are best avoided if at all possible.
That is until I rode in a pair of Sziols Skiing lenses. First off, it was pretty warm that day (55 degrees in Utah in January ain't too shabby), and my glasses didn't fog even though I hadn't applied any anti-fog product. The flat light lens worked great in pretty much all conditions; you spend a lot of time going in and out of shade at Park City. Oh, and they were excellent in actual flat light as well! The frames stayed in place and never hit that awful pressure point behind my ears. And when I switched to my Active Orange lens when I got back to town, I really noticed how warm the Skiing lens was keeping my face.
But what struck me most was the wind didn't get in from the side! I couldn't believe it! This issue has prevented me from riding in sunglasses in all but the warmest weather (and even then they were just the lesser evil).
Finally, a pair of shades I can ride in :D
